Homeowners in New Jersey looking to have a swimming pool installed will find that they have a number of options. Above ground, inground, vinyl lined, fiberglass, concrete and gunite are amongst them. It is important for homeowners to understand that each has its pros and cons. Ultimately, the pool must be appropriate for the homeowner and their family.  Budget, how much space is available and personal preference will all be factors in an individual’s decision regarding the type of swimming pool they should purchase.

Above ground pools are the least expensive option. They can quickly be built and installed. They also take up less room. They are typically best for homeowners who are on a budget and perhaps do not have a lot of space. Because they are portable, they can be taken down and re-installed at another location. Above ground pools can also be sold.

Fiberglass pools are quite popular. Individuals, when purchasing a second pool tend to choose one made from fiberglass. They are fairly easy to construct, can be built fairly quickly and do not have to be resurfaced, all great benefits to the homeowner.

Vinyl lined inground pools look similar to their aboveground counter-parts but are built underground. These are among the least expensive inground pool options. However, they  may need to be replaced about once a decade, which is an added expense.

Gunite inground pools are extremely popular and are one of the most requested inground pool designs.  They are very durable and can be installed in whatever shape or size the homeowner requires or requests.

Concrete pools are also fairly popular. However, they can be a bit more difficult to construct then other types of swimming pools. They take longer. Concrete pools are very durable and can be installed in a number of different climates types which adds to its demand.

New Jersey is a great state to have a swimming pool.  The hot summers are always more tolerable when a person has the option of taking a dip in a cool, refreshing pool. With the addition of a swimming pool heater, it is possible for individuals to lengthen the pool season, giving them the opportunity to swim during the fall and spring.

When having a pool installed, homeowners will have a number of options. The aforementioned are all great ones for the state.  Above ground, fiberglass, gunite, concrete and inground pools can all be installed in New Jersey homes. Any of these can be a great option.  The pool which turns out to be best will depend on a homeowner’s budget, space and preference.
